Science-meets-sensation in a menu collaboration between Matt Whiley and Curious bar in Melbourne’s W Hotel. Exploring the fundamental states of matter: solid, liquid, gas, and vapour, plus a fifth: "curiosity". 

A systematic approach was taken for the menu design; first, a colour was assigned to each matter, then a custom symbol was created to represent each cocktail. Each cocktail was then placed on a ‘Matter Map’ according to its chemical profile. Our design for the menu echoes the vernacular of a scientific manual, with typography and a grid system used alongside Figs. to label each cocktail.
