Client / Overview

Rowan McLachlan and Saan Davidson make hand-forged tools and teach small groups at Two Hands Forge in Castlemaine, Victoria.

Row and Saan were looking for a playful take on a world that is typically quite serious and masculine. Our response for the logo — two nested hands forming a flame shape — is rendered in an organic way, and the way they overlap alludes to the shared learning offered. The accompanying logotype has been hand-crafted based on an old metal type specimen.

The colour palette is derived from objects found in the Two Hands Forge workshop and is used abundantly to reinforce the brand's non-intimidating, kind vibe.

Simple block-print-style illustrations underscore the joy of preparing food for family and friends with Two Hands Forge knives.
